Abstract: This paper explores the law on comparative advertising in the context of globalization and liberalization in India. The changed context required strengthening of the law. On the contrary, even the existing law is being liquidated. This paper brings out the fact that the opening up of the economy, on its own, is not going to create and sustain competition. Appropriate law, adequate enforcement, infrastructure, and a quick dispute settlement mechanism would be needed to sustain competition.
